Classification Of Bulldozers By Purpose:

Mar. 31,2021

1. Construction and earthmoving.

Their blade width usually does not exceed 5.5 meters, the blade itself can only be raised / lowered. They are machines of average planning accuracy.

2. Heaters.

Their purpose lies in the name itself – they rake up the ground.

3. Brush cutters and uprooters.

Brush cutters are used for cutting and moving cut dense vegetation. Rooters are equipped with a blade with sharp teeth, which allows them to uproot stumps and turn large stones out of the ground. They are used in the forestry industry for clearing clearings, in agriculture for clearing areas for sowing.

4. Garbage.

Are applied to cleaning of dumps and metallurgical combines. The operator’s cab is equipped with an air purification system.

5. Swamp.

Due to the particularly wide tracks, they have increased cross-country ability and are able to work in wetlands. Are applied at the works connected with extraction of peat and carrying out reclamation processes.

6. Rescue.

Equipped with a cabin air purification system and an oxygen supply. They are used in extreme conditions, for example, during large forest fires to move burning trees, create earthen ditches to contain the fire. They are quite compact, because the blade of such bulldozers has a folding design. This factor provides them with the ability to fit in trailers and on railway platforms and therefore guarantees quick delivery of equipment to the work site.

7. Military.

The basis for such a bulldozer can be combat vehicles, artillery tractors or even tanks. Used to clear the area from anti-tank weapons, the construction of military installations.

TYPES OF BULLDOZER BLADES:

The dozer blade is a heavy metal plate attached to the front of a tractor used to move objects with the force of the machine.

Mounted dumps, there are many types:

  • buffer dumps;
  • reclamation;
  • coal;
  • wood chips.

All these are special dumps adapted to perform only narrowly focused work. When carrying out conventional construction and earthmoving works, only three types of dumps are most often used:

1. Direct blade (the so-called “Blade”). It is short and straight, has small lateral wings. Can be used for precision work.

2. Universal blade (“U”). Tall and curved, sometimes it has side wings, which gives it the ability to “capture” large amounts of material.

3. Combination blade (“SU”) is a short but curved blade with small side wings. Handy for moving piles of large stones in quarries and quarries.

Naturally, in order to carry out such complex work on moving heavy and bulky materials, a bulldozer as a machine must have high power and have impressive dimensions. Therefore, “in the family” of bulldozers, there are representatives of different weight categories and power. It is the power / weight ratio that guarantees the bulldozer the most high-quality performance of the task assigned to it.
